Something which has recently come to our attention on the training side;

"If a person uses a firearm in the conducting of business, then the person needs the further unit standard/s  “ Handling and use of a Handgun/rifle/shotgun for business purposes”

I was under the impression that this was only relevant to the security industry, but apparently this is not the case. It applies to guides, PH’s and the like as well.

Has anyone encountered this before? I am trying to get clarity but as usual the views differ from one place to the next.

Would this require another competency certificate for the individual?"

Correct and correct, i.e. you need it for any section 20 purpose and you must apply for an additional competency.
